Assessment tool Software for the incoming Third Year Information Technology Students of the University of the Immaculate Conception

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to develop an assessment tool software for the incoming third year Information Technology students of the University of the Immaculate Conception to know if they suit to enroll the Computer Network course. The proponents have designed an objective type of assessment software. The software consists of questions that are related to computer networking. The formulation of the questions was based on the Computer Networks 1 and Computer Networks 2 syllabi. Further, the formulation of the questions was based on the cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy of learning. Seventy five students from different sections of the IT-2 took the assessment and consequently their level of learning in terms of computer networks was identified.
