Abstract:

This research introduces an instrument that would help students in technical drawing. The researcher dubbed the device as Flexi Drawing Instrument (FDI). Aside from the conventional drawing instruments, there are already existing devices that are parallel to the present research. There exists an Adjustable Angle T Square that is rotatable and has dual functions of drawing lines and angles. This drawing instrument can only provide 30, 45, 60, and 75 degree angle. The dual functions instrument can only be used one at a time. One can only draw an angle unless the t square is not used. This type of instrument cannot satisfy the needs of our drafting and drawing students for it is very limited in its function and has a limited degree angle available.Multi-Mark Layout Tool is another drawing instrument that is multi-functional. This instrument can take multitude of measuring, marking and layout tasks. Furthermore, it can be used as t square, trimming tool, and depth gauge in one unit. But this drawing instrument is not ideal for drawing huge images or structures because it is only six inches long. The study concluded that the flexi drawing instrument is only good for drawing an accurate short line that is beneficial for carpenters.
