Abstract:

This book is designed to cater to college freshmen enrolled in English courses. It contains an intensive study of sentence through its word, phrase, and clause components, its structure and meaning. It provides exercises adjusted to three different levels of student competence—basic, intermediate, and advanced. With such divisions, the teacher can approximate the level of the students’ comprehension of the lesson and thus devise ways to assist the students as individuals.
