Abstract:

This study designed a device that can monitor the smoke emitted by the car to explore some means to reduce health problems and increasing death rates due to air pollution. The design project was composed of a smoke sensor module and a microcontroller which could measure the carbon monoxide particle emitted by the car and displays its percentage on the LCD.

Experimental development and descriptive methods were exercised respectively. Six purposively chosen evaluators examined the functionality of the design.

Findings of the study exhibited the effectiveness and the reliability of the device and were evaluated very well with respect to its functionality. It has proven to monitor the amount of carbon monoxide released by the engine.
