Determinants of Sustainability of Students in TIP: Inputs to Marketing Program Development

Abstract:

Today, several high schools are identified to be feeders of TIP but those are not sufficient in determining the right potential students that will surely finish their college programs in TIP.  

This study was undertaken to determine the secondary schools where our graduates came from and classify them according to regions, municipality and category.

The research method used was descriptive. There were 342 respondents out of 900 graduates of 2007. There were 263 high schools identified to have provided our institution with high school graduates capable of finishing their enrolled college programs. The regions where the high schools are located were also identified. NCR followed by Region IV-A, Region III then Region IV-B and Region V were identified to be the regions where the high school graduates came from. The top 5 municipalities were identified as follows: Manila, Quezon City, Cavite, Mindoro and Bulacan. Public high schools had a  52% contribution to our source of high schools while private high school graduates reached 48%.
