Enrolment Trends in Logistics Management of TIP QC and Manila: Perspectives for Policy Formulation

Abstract:

Since 2004, the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) has remained the first and only institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education to offer Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Logistics Management (now Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, BSBA-LM) in the school year 2004-2005 to basically address the needs of logistics industry particularly in the Philippines.

This study made use of descriptive research and trends/risk analysis for the assessment and evaluation of LM’s existence (not to attack the curriculum per se but for policy statement recommendations based on enrolment data, shifters / transferees / freshmen, industry demand, current curriculum, graduation rate, employment rate) at TIP Manila and QC campuses from SY 2004-2005 to SY 2007-2008 and Summer 2008.
