A Tracer Study On Employability, Competency, Acquisition, And Employment Barriers Among Criminology Graduates
Jenn Aubrey Baybado | Madeilyn B Estacio
Discipline: social sciences (non-specific)
Abstract:
This study examines the employability of criminology graduates, the competencies they acquire, and the challenges they face in securing employment. The researcher employed a descriptive research design, utilizing a validated questionnaire to collect the necessary data. The study revealed that most graduates are employed with highly acquired competencies in knowledge, skills, and values. Challenges include meeting physical requirements, such as age and height, while employment quotas are less of a concern. It recommends enhancing criminology curricula to align with labor market needs, addressing physical eligibility barriers, and improving communication between institutions and employers. It also suggests conducting annual tracer studies to track the outcomes of graduates.
