Abstract:

The research study entitled “Strategies on Improving the Performance in Licensure Examination for Teachers among Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education Students: An Assessment”. This study investigated factors influencing the performance of Bachelor of Technology Livelihood Education (BTLED) students at Hadji Butu School of Arts and Trades on the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). A quantitative, descriptive-correlational design was employed, using a survey instrument to gather data from a stratified random sample of current BTLED students preparing for the LET. The demographic profile of the respondents revealed that the majority of students were female, aged 19-24, with parents having completed elementary or college-level education and earning P5,000 or less monthly. The study found that students generally agreed on the effectiveness of LET preparation strategies related to curriculum instruction, challenges encountered, and the academic environment. However, significant differences in perceptions of challenges encountered emerged based on gender. A strong positive correlation existed between perceived curriculum effectiveness and the perceived quality of the academic environment. However, no significant correlation was found between challenges encountered and the perceived quality of the academic environment. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing the curriculum to equip students with LET-specific knowledge and skills, implementing targeted interventions like study skills workshops and financial aid, educating parents on the LET and fostering collaboration, ensuring adequate resources and technology, providing a conducive environment for LET reviewers, and conducting further research to delve into specific challenges and evaluate intervention effectiveness over time. These recommendations aim to address the complex interplay of factors impacting LET performance and ultimately contribute to improved outcomes for BTLED students at Hadji Butu School of Arts and Trades.
