Abstract:

Comprehensive Sexuality Education is globally recognized as crucial for promoting sexual health, gender equality, and informed decision-making. In the Philippines, the Department of Education mandated the integration of CSE across subject areas, including Araling Panlipunan, through DepEd Order No. 31, s. 2018. This study examined the perceived challenges in integrating CSE in AP among 45 respondents, including 15 Grade 10 AP teachers, 15 students, and 15 parents in Sariaya District. Using quota sampling and a self-constructed survey checklist, data were analyzed through descriptive-comparative statistics. Results revealed grand weighted means of 2.63 for curriculum standards, 2.86 for learning resources, and 2.87 for stakeholder engagement, all interpreted as "agree." Mann–Whitney U tests indicated significant differences by age in learning resources (U = 138.00, p = .036) and stakeholder engagement (U = 203.50, p = .025), but no significant differences by sex. Findings guided the development of a targeted training seminar proposal to address the highest-rated challenges.
