Preferred Entry Competencies of Chemical Engineers in Manufacturing Industries

Abstract:

The study used the descriptive method of research in determining the preferred entry competencies of Chemical Engineering graduates in manufacturing industries. The respondents of this research were the frontline managers of selected local manufacturing firms in Manila, Cavite, Batangas.

The research instrument used was a researcher-constructed questionnaire to draw responses to selected variables.

Frontline managers and supervisors were not very particular with post-graduate degrees as an entry requirement for chemical engineering positions. The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree and the corresponding appropriate professional license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) are the basic qualifications sought after.
